Plac Kossaka (Kossaka Square) lies but a few steps from major tourist showpieces of Kraków. A few steps away is Wawel Hill with its imposing castle and towering spire of the cathedral. The Vistula Boulevard and the Dragon’s Cave are at the foot of the hill. Going along ul. Zwierzyniecka or taking the tram, you reach the Kraków Philharmonic Hall. Follow ul. Franciszkańska to get to the famous Papal Window of the Bishop’s Palace and further down the Planty you come to the Market Square (Rynek) with its Cloth Hall (Sukiennice), St. Mary’s Church (Kościół Mariacki), and the Town Hall Tower (Wieża Ratuszowa). The historic buildings of the Jagiellonian University are a few yards away. A three minute walk will take you to the fine art exhibition in the Czartoryski Museum featuring Leonardo da Vinci’s Lady with the Ermine and Rembrandt’s Landscape with the Good Samaritan.
