The Salt Mine Museum in Wieliczka is one of the biggest mine museums in Europe. It features two permanent exhibitions. One is located underground in the historic salt mine, the other is housed in the medieval Salt Mine castle.
The museum showsaces all aspects of salt mining and processing. Exhibits displayed in the historical excavations create a unique mining museum. In the courtyard of the castle, there is the oldest coal pit dating back to the 13th century as well as a 14th-century tower and town walls.
