St. Mary's Church on the Main Square boasts one of the most beautiful wooden altars in Poland. It was carved by Wit Stwosz in 1477-1489. The Gothic altar features about 200 wooden figures made of limewood. The highest sculptures have up to 3 meters. The altar presents the scenes from Virgin Mary's life.
