The convent is one of the most beautiful historic building complex in Krakow. It was erected in the 12th century, but almost completely destroyed in 13th century by the Tartars. The convent was rebuilt at the end of 14th century. Its present shape dates back to the beginning of the 17th century. It features a valuabe collection of manuscripts and old prints. Adjacent to the convent are two churches - St. Augustine church and John the Baptist church.
