Plac Nowy (The New Square) is a focal point of the Old Jewish Quarter. It was incorporated into Kazimierz in the late 17th century. In the middle of the square there is Rotunda, which is a round market building surrounded by numerous market stalls, where you can get fresh produce, second-hand books, clothes as well as various trinkets and knick-knacks. On Sunday morning there is an antique flea market. The square is lined with atmospheric bars and clubs and it is a vibrant nightlife venue. Each May the square hosts the annual Soup Festival.
