This truly impressive synagogue was completed in 1862. Its beautiful interior was destroyed during WWII by the Nazis, who used the building for storage purposes and as a horse stable. In the 1990s the synagogue underwent extensive renovation work to regain its former splendour. The present-day synagogue boasts a beautiful, lavishly decorated interior with intricate designs and patterns. It serves religious purposes and hosts numerous cultural events, especially during the annual Jewish Festival held in June.
