Kupa Synagogue is located in the former Jewish quarter of Kazimierz. It was built in 1643 in a baroque style. In recent years the building has been meticulously renovated. Its northern wall connects with the remnants of the medieval city-wall of Kazimerz while its southern flank faces Warschauera Street. The synagogue features a colourful interior, richly decorated with paintings from the 1920's, depicting various Jewish and Old Testament motifs. It serves Krakow’s Jewish community as one of the venues for religious ceremonies and cultural events.
