The Stary Theatre is one of the oldest Polish professional stages. From its earliest days (1781) it has been an important part of the Polish culture. Its success in maintaining a high artistic level for many a decade is the result of involvement and effort of the theatre’s successive directors who have skilfully composed the troupe and build a well-devised repertoire. Important for the role played by the theatre is also the formula of team work and outstanding acting practice and experience gained during the two centuries of the Stary Theatre.
