Schindler Factory

After the invasion of Poland, In December 1939 Oskar Schindler bought an enamel factory on ul. Lipowa 4, where he employed Jews. In September 1944, Schindler saved the lives of his Jewish workers by preparing his "list" of Jews he then took to a new factory in Sudetenland.
There is a long - term scheme to develop the Schindler facility and establish a modern art and cultural centre dedicated to the memory of Oskar Schindler and the history of the factory. At the moment in the factory visitors can see some temporary exhibitions.
