Skalka is a popular name of the baroque Church of St. Michael the Archangel and St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr. Adjacent to the church is Pauline Fathers’ Monastery. The complex is located near Wawel. St. Stanislaus was a Krakow’s bishop killed at the king’s order while conducting the mass on Skalka. Skalka is a National Pantheon – many distinguished Poles are buried in the church’s crypt.
