The 6th edition of Photomonth in Krakow 2008 takes place in May. It was launched on 6 May and will last till the end of May. It is one of the largest photography festivals in Poland gaining recognition in Europe. Exhibitions are displayed in almost 40 location across Krakow in the city’s galleries, cafes, pubs and in the open air in adapted public spaces.
The leitmotif of this year’s festival is “Youth” and current issues associated with this concept. The second block of exhibitions presents photographs by Polish artists. It covers several collective exhibitions, including historical and individual presentations from a variety of periods.
As every year, the OFF festival – the experimental part of Photomonth in Krakow, unrelated to the curatorial programme and promoting young talent – will present the most interesting works by young photographers.
Apart from photo exhibitions, the festival comprises workshops, lectures, meetings, screenings of films and slides, presentations and m any more.
