In Krakow’s city centre there are three zones of restricted traffic and parking, where you have to pay a parking fee.
The zone of restricted traffic and parking is enclosed with the following streets:
Al. Krasinskiego, Al. Mickiewicza, Al. Slowackiego - to the interchange between Warszawska and Al. 29 listopada, the railway line from the Warszawska – Al. 29 listopada interchange to the flyover above Dietla (excluding this street), the river Wisla from Grunwaldzki bridge to Debnicki bridge.
Parking fees can be paid with parking cards or a parking permit. Parking cards can be bought in kiosks, ticket machines at the bus stops, post offices and from traffic wardens in yellow vests. You can also get them at the Parking Zone Office at Retoryka 1, where parking permits are also available. Parking fee for 1h – 3 PLN.
Zone A (Strefa A)
The zone comprises the Main Square (Rynek Glowny) and the following streets: Szewska, Slawkowska, Florianska, Sienna (from Maly Rynek to the Main Square), Grodzka (from the Main Square to Poselska), Kanonicza, Senacka, Pijarska (from Szpitalna to Florianska). Zone A is a pedestrian zone, where all vehicular traffic is prohibited except for bicycles being pushed.
Zone B (Strefa B)
The area covers ten or so streets encircled by Planty, as well as parts of Dluga, Basztowa and Karmelicka Streets. In this zone the maximum speed of the car is 20 km/h. Parking is allowed only in parking zones.
Zone C (Strefa C)
The Zone comprises several dozen streets around
Planty, mainly streets between Planty and Aleje. Parking cards can be bought in kiosks, ticket machines located at the bus stops, post offices and at traffic wardens.
