The ZOO
Location: The Wolski Woods
One of the family attractions is the Krakow’s ZOO located in Las Wolski
(the Wolski Woods) about 8 km west of the city centre. It features the Mini ZOO, where kids can stroke and feed ponies, little rabbits, guinea pigs, little goats and donkeys. (opening hours: 9:30am – 4pm)
After a visit to the ZOO, you can take a walk in the beautiful Las Wolski. Within this recreation area of extensive woodland, you will find asphalt lanes, benches and wooden shelters. The area features 8 walking paths (total length 36 km), a cycling path, as well as a ski and a horse riding route. There is also the Kosciuszko Mound (Kopiec Kosciuszki), which affords panoramic views over the city.
You can get to Las Wolski by car from Krolowej Jadwigi street or by bus no 134 at Cracovia Hotel.
Jordana Park
Location: between 3 Maja and Reymonta Street.
It is a great place for an active rest away from the city’s bustle. The park’s grounds provide a lot of space for walking, cycling and picknicking. There is a children’s playground, a small pool, as well as a rental of bikes, boats and electric cars. During winter children can sledge down the little hill. Good fun all year round!
Puppet Theatre
Location: Skarbowa 2
The Puppet, Mask and Actor Theatre GROTESKA presents a rich repertoire for the youngest audience. It offers both classic children’s literature as well as more contemporary plays for kids. Both children and parents will find something for themselves in this magic world, as the language of the theatre is universal and appeals to all.
Park Wodny (Aqua Park)
Location: Dobrego Pasterza 126
Aqua Park in Krakow is the biggest Aqua park in Poland. It offers great time for the whole family. For adults it provides sauna, hydro-massage, jacuzzi, climbing walls, wild springs and swimming lanes as well as almost 800 meters of twisted slides! For the youngest there is a paddling pool (no deeper than 0.6 metres) with a fairytale castle, a small slide as well as a friendly whale spouting fountains of warm water (opening hours: 8am – 10 pm)
Another attraction for children from 1 to 10 years of age is a modern Children Play Center GIBON in the Aqua Park, where they can safely enjoy numerous attractions such as a swimming pool, balls, slides, climbing walls, footbridges, chutes, labyrinths etc. (opening hours: 9am – 8pm)
Kryspinow Lake
Location: 12 km west of Krakow, near Balice Airport
For family water fun in the summer, you can visit Kryspinow Lake. It features sandy beaches, watering places, water sports facilities and rentals, basketball and volleyball pitch and a playground. The water is clean and safe, so you can let your little ones enjoy the summer!You will get to the lake by bus no 209, which departs from Salwator.
Along the Wisla River
You can take your kids for a boat trip along the Wisla River. Boat piers are located at the Grunwaldzki bridge, opposite the Royal Castle and at the bottom of the Wawel Hill. 150 m from Debnicki bridge there is also a rental of canoes, water bikes, speed boats etc.
