For the nineteenth time, children’s groups from around the world will come to Nowy Sącz to the Children of the Mountains Festival, organised by the Małopolska Sokół Culture Centre in Nowy Sącz. The groups are matched in Polish-Foreign pairs: they explore, play, and rest together, and they also perform together, because, following the concept of the festival, “childhood friendships bring peace to the adult world”. This year there’ll be young artists from Austria, Montenegro, Ghana, Indonesia, the Sakha Republic and Venezuela and – as guests – Taiwan. Poland will be represented by groups from Eastern Galicia, Podhale, Babia Góra, Pogórze, Orawa and Żywiec. At the opening of the festival all the groups march in a colourful parade through the streets of Nowy Sącz to the Market Square to take part in a concert which concludes with a fireworks display.
