In November the Kraków Philharmonic will be livening up the monotony of late autumn with the Organ and Harpsichord Music Days (18-22 November), organised in cooperation with the Academy of Music in Kraków.
Accompanying organ virtuoso, Andrzej Białko, during his performance of works by Franz Liszt and the contemporary German composers, Hans Schanderl and Heinrich Poos, will be the Kraków Philharmonic Choir (18 November, 7pm).
The harpsichord concerts (20 November, 7pm and 21 November, 6pm) have been dedicated to the marvellous pianist, musical theorist and composer, Wanda Landowska, who died 60 years ago. Her largest service to posterity, however, was her returning of the harpsichord, supplanted in the 18th century by the piano, to favour.
