In October the weather is not favourable to thrilling expeditions and our mood usually leaves a lot to be desired. The Pro Musica Mundi Art Association is coming out against the autumn blues and inviting us on a four-day trip from 8 to 11 October 2009 around the fever-inducing sun of Andalusia.

The Nuevo Mundo Festival is coming to Kraków for what is the second time. The first edition of the festival uncovered the various faces of tango for us. On this occasion we will be communing with the music of southern Spain – the fiery flamenco. This is an umbrella term for the art of dancing and music – especially singing – practised by the Andalusian Gitanos (Gypsies), which combines elements of Indian, Persian, Jewish, Arab, Mauretanian and Egyptian culture, and even mediaeval Gregorian chant.
