The main idea of the event is to present the two trends in the 20th century music: the sacred (sacrum) and the lay (profanum). Each Festival edition presents the works of composers from certain geographical areas, for instance Vienna-Austria, Russia, France. An important aspect is the presentation of complete groups of works by composer, broken down into forms and performers (e.g. complete Schubert piano trios, complete Shostakovich cello concerti). The Festival uses post-industrial facilities, a feature that makes this classical music promoting event unique in Poland as well as in Europe.
